OUR MISSION
FOR OUR COMMUNITY

We are on a mission to make New Hampshire a place where Veterans are proud to live, work and raise their families.
Stay tuned for the initiatives we’ve put in place for 2024 to make this possible.

SWAM’s Annual VSO Summit

Soon after starting Swim With A Mission, we realized that our mission to strengthen the Veteran community was more than just raising money.  We began to ask important questions about how a Veteran finds services and more importantly, what happens when that service organization cannot provide all of the help that they need.  As we learned, Veteran service organizations (VSO) in New Hampshire tend to operate in silos. Many did not know nearly enough about each-other and often did not know where and how to get the Veteran the services they needed.  With that said, in 2021, SWAM hosted the first annual VSO Summit, where they invited all the local Veteran service organizations together for a day to introduce, collaborate, and learn to effectively work together on a mission for our Veterans.  For three years, SWAM has now hosted these important summits which have successfully brought these great organizations together to discuss the most important needs of the Veteran community.

We’ve Got Your Six Radio

Sundays 9am-10am

We’ve Got Your Six is focused on sharing stories, providing support and resources for New Hampshire Veterans.

With close to 93,000 self-reported veterans residing in the state of New Hampshire this represents a robust population reflecting close to 7% of the total state population. (2022 World Population Review) Each week the conversation will focusing on stories like; a veteran experience, a veteran resource, an in-depth look at a resource to help a veteran and/or their family and how to navigate attaining the benefit, or a veteran resilience story spotlighting veterans post active-duty experiences. We will also share upcoming events that have significant military presence or appeal.

Never Forget Plaques

Never Forget Plaques were created as a way to further honor these service members, and each is custom made to honor one of our 96 fallen soldiers. As of August 2023, over 300 have been purchased and displayed in businesses across our great state of New Hampshire, making it possible for all who witness it, to learn more about a soldier and our mission to honor their memory. They come in sizes ranging from small (14 x 11) to X-Large (27 x 21.2), and can be purchased at any time.

A Book on NH Veterans
Portraits of Sacrifice and Bravery

For the past two years we have been working on a special book that features stories and photographs of our Veterans living in New Hampshire. We have selected 55 Veterans that represent the diversity of all our NH Veterans, so from every branch, every era, every rank, and every conflict served in. The book is formatted as a large coffee table size that features the Veterans portrait on one side of the page and his or her story on the following page. The book will allow the public to get a better sense of the service and sacrifices our Veterans have made for our country. Purchase your copy today!
