Questions about giving

  • Veteran service organizations apply for a SWAM grant each year between July 1 and September 30. SWAM's Grant Committee reviews every application for mission alignment, demonstrated need, organizational capacity and potential impact on the Veteran community, and recipients are announced in the fall.

    SWAM also hosts an annual VSO Summit that brings Veteran organizations, the VA and local leaders into one room to find gaps in care. The current focus is mental health and reducing veteran suicide. SWAM funds retreats that bring Veterans together and as many service dogs as it can. See the 2025 grant recipients.

  • SWAM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are generally tax deductible. Keep your confirmation email for your records.

  • Yes. Email info@swam.org and we will change or cancel it.
